中研院林玉儂研究員及台大地質王昱老師針對緬甸北方克欽省礦區災害發表文章，並接受Nature記者採訪。研究顯示此次緬甸礦災的產生，有其人為管控不當的前因，最終才會導致大量死傷的結果，因此對於礦區環境的管理不可不慎！
